Although
there are posters up saying DLC will be playing at the Railway,
Ipswich, on 17th May, we won't - we were asked to, but had to
turn the gig down as Terry's taking a bit of paternity leave.....
Normal service will be resumed shortly! Best wishes from the rest
of us to him & Lucy.
In the meantime we're finishing off the artwork for the new album
& getting it pressed. Release date to be announced soon.....
Pics from Studio
3 gig onsite soon. The venue messed our promoter around &
we had to play in the v. small room upstairs, and Barney's kickdrum
pedal fell apart so we had to cut our set a bit short - many apologies
to the dudes regretting the shortness of our set. (The pedal is
probably repairable, but Barney's getting a new one anyway so
hopefully that won't happen again).
Just about recovered from brilliant
& chaotic short spate of gigs for which Pressure
Stuff were unfortunately unable at the last minute to join
us. Shades of Reign
seriously rocked with great heaviness, stood in for PS at the
Ice Bar, & invited DLC to join them for a fourth gig, at the
Grapes, Bury St. Eds, as their headlining band had dropped
out at the last minute.....

Many cheers to Persevere and As Ruins Fall for stepping in at very short notice, to excellent effect, at the Priors and the Riverside Club respectively.
DLC pics from all 4
gigs are now in the Gallery
Apologies about the previously announced gig which should have
been at the Twist, Colchester, on 16th April. This has been cancelled
as Syconaut's whole tour has been cancelled. It may apparently
be rescheduled June/July time, watch the website for news.....
The new
DLC album is recorded, mixed & mastered!
More details soon .....

3rd April Saturday's gig at the Priors was ace - many thanks to PERSEVERE for stepping in at the VERY last moment (see Absence of Pressure Stuff Crisis below) - maximum respect to them for agreeing to play even though they were without their bass player - and to SHADES OF REIGN for being brilliant. And also to S of R for playing another great set at the Ice Bar last night.

Dammit, we have to pull out of tonight's
gig in Bury.
Linden came back from Germany
with a chest infection, hoped it would get better in time but
it's got worse. He went to the doc this morning & it's a severe
infection & he has 3 prescriptions & is no way well
enough to vocalise this evening - he can hardly talk & can't
stop coughing.
We are all very pissed off about having to cancel, especially
Linden. Very sorry to anyone who was hoping to see us tonight,
and to Sammi the promoter at the Con Club.
Ceri's other band VIVIDUS have offered to step into the breach.
Get well soon, Linden!

to be : ID required at the door, different handstamps for under

16s, but can't seem to get a definite answer on 16s-18s..... Sorry.....

*** DLC
HAVE UNFORTUNATELY HAD TO PULL OUT OF THE ZEST GIG TONIGHT AS
TERRY IS VERY UNWELL. MANY APOLOGIES TO EVERYONE.
DO GO ALONG ANYWAY & SEE OUR GOOD MATES AS RUINS FALL. Vividus have stepped in at the last minute to fill in
for DLC.***
The Riverside Club gig went
great, we all had a wicked time, thanks to all who came along,
The brilliant Daksinroy
were well pleased with the reception you gave them & with
the whole atmosphere of the gig. Thanks to A
Horse Called War for their SERIOUSLY brutal & crushing
set, and also for helping us out with loans of instruments/gear,
as Daksinroy couldn't bring their own stuff over on the plane.
Thanks also to the noble Street Team for some fine advance publicity
work, and for amazing vigilance in spotting and counteracting
a piece of misinformation posted on MSN by an unknown individual
regarding age limits for the gig, which could potentially have
prevented some people from turning up - doesn't seem to have had
much effect, if any - the turnout was excellent & included
a great number of the younger faction of the DLC crowd, who can't
get to a lot of the other gigs because of 18s &
over rules.
Pics in the Gallery NOW! (The DLC ones, anyway. We'll put one or two Daksinroy ones on soon - if you want to see some pics of them from the weekend straightaway, click HERE for some really classy ones, and there will probably be some on Daksinroy's own site soon.)
Thanks
to the organisers of the Debenham gig and the audience. The hall
was weird, like playing in a giant reverb unit. Was good to meet
up with Skrewworm again, respect to S.O.O.N. with whom we hope
to play a gig before too long, pics now in the Gallery.
Photos
from 30th January gig at the Ice Bar now in the Gallery.
NEXT GIG (unless something else turns
up first.....)
DLC at DLC! Dead Lane Cross
will be playing at the Debenham Leisure & Community Centre
on Sunday 12th February, with about 7 other bands (playing various
styles of music) including, we think, White Water, Surrender Monkeys,
Scene, Phobia & Skrewworm. We also think doors open at 4 p.m.
and live music starts at about 5.45 p.m. DLC will be onstage at
9.15 p.m. for 30 minutes. Admission £3.
Many thanks to everyone who
came along to the Ice Bar gig on Monday 30th, and to i! PiNATA!.
The Moshpit was strange and intriguing. We had a good time! Photos
in the Gallery soon.
Photos from 12th Dec. gig -
Planet Beet at Pot Black, Bury St. Edmunds - now in the Gallery.
DLC will be playing THE ICE BAR, IPSWICH, again on Monday 30th January, with i!
PiNATA! , and possibly another band as well. As usual,
no admission charge, and doors open 7 p.m.

With SKINTICKET
Was weird playing upstairs at the Ice (or Fire?) Bar, like playing in someone's sitting room in front of the fireplace. The refurbishments going on downstairs look impressive. Thanks to SKINTICKET for excellent support.
The Wall of Death (all of it).
25/9/05 STOP PRESS, AGAIN!!!
DLC are playing the Ice Bar, Ipswich, Monday 26th September. Only
found out yesterday. (We will be playing upstairs this time as
downstairs is being refurbished). SKINTICKET are also playing.....
Thanks
to My Cold Faith for inviting us to play at the Caribbean
Club last Friday (16th), and to Ian & co. for the sound, and
the magnificent lights as well - luvly snaps from this gig, now
in the Gallery! Also thanks to Garner & the noble Moshers.
And to the ones who turned up to see us thinking (correctly) that
we were supposed to be onstage at 11 o'clock, only to arrive at
the end of our set cos everything was running early - sorry about
that.....
The
Moonies gig on 2nd September was great, capacity crowd, expert
advanced moshpit including some REAL slam dancing, much to Barney's
delight. Will be trying to get Hybrideon to play Stow sometime.
Good
news! Jason has sorted out the future of PLANET BEET, after being
pushed out of the Priors. To keep informed of the new set-up &
future events, check out the PLANET BEET website HERE.
OK,

the Beautiful Days Festival (where Barney was playing with Kip
Keino) are now back.

DLC TEAM & SKREWWORM.....!
Will hopefully be adding to this list very soon. Full details
as soon as we have them.
Haven't
forgotten the photos.....
Was
great playing the Riverside Club again, thanks to all who came
along. Living Proof and Plague Ridden were bloody
amazin.
Must
just add a sad lament for the passing of two of the rare jewels
in the crown of the region's music scene. Rex Records of Ipswich
has gone out of business & closed down: thanks for all the
years of stocking such a good selection of recordings, and supporting
local bands so positively - now there's only Out of Time between
us and the soulless megastores. Furthermore, The Priors, Bury
St. Eds, is now under new management and they've unceremoniously
chucked Jason & Planet Beet out (with no notice - they had
to find a different venue to stage their last promotion, and have
had to cancel a long list of forthcoming gigs). Jason's done so
much for the Bury music scene - DLC is one among many bands to
have been priveleged to play at the Priors Thursday night gigs
- and this is just seriously out of order. Hope he finds a new
venue.
